Congratulations to VW_Morrell for winning May's Ride of the Month!

Name:
Cory Morrell

Make:
Volkswagen

Model:
GTI

Year:
2002

So what is the story with your car?
While home on leave from Korea I needed a car and I went to the VW Dealership and
looked at my future car. At the time i was 20 and didn't have the money but fell
in love. I bought the car in 03/04 while deployed to Iraq from the original owner
(friend of the family). Come to find out it was the car i had looked at a year and
a half earlier at the dealership. I bought the car and before I saw the car in
person I had already had a laundry list of parts ordered and sitting at my parents
house waiting to be installed when I returned. In the last 6 years the car has
been a nonstop project. It has taken me many of places, on the track, solo 2, car
show's, dyno, and many road trips. Most people think I'm crazy for "wasting my
money" or "you should have...". Bottom line is, It's mine and I built it the way I
wanted it.

How long have you owned the car?
I bought the car in the winter of 03-04 while deployed to Iraq.

How have you decided to style it?
Motorsport; if that is a style. I just go with what i like. Most of what i have done to the car is OEM, other then all the go fast. I'm not into flash, bling, ground scraping, or rubbing the paint off my fenders for the most part. I grew up around motorsports and I love just about anything that go's fast.

What is your favorite part of the car?
The fact that it scares the $hit out of most of the people I take for a ride in it, or giggle like a school girl. Heavy D your not the only one! And 400whp is fun to drive!

Least favorite part?
Least favorite part is its a project car and I can't stop! There is always one more thing I want to do.

What is your most memorable moment with the car?
So far my most memorable moment... Its hard to say. Every time i drive it!

Any future plans?
Plans, enjoy it! Hope to get it back on the track again sometime in the near future.

Have any tips for anyone?
You don't need to do a poll on anything! Its your car, do what will make YOU happy!

Any shoutouts you want to make?
GPO, I thank everyone at GPO for your help but mainly Doug. Without Doug's knowledge my car would never have made it to what it is today.

^^^^^This is who took the pic's! LOL ^^^^^

Rims i traded for a set of TT 6 spokes and some money like 3 months ago. The coils haven't done anything with them sense they where installed. This is how its driven every day that it gets driven. Looks good, handles great, and no rubbing!
