Congratulations to random_task for winning April's Ride of the Month!

Name:
Donald Dickens

Make:
Volkswagen

Model:
Jetta Carat
So what is the story with the car?
Got my car by way of a trade for work on a mk3 gti....god that sucked! Car was
originally an 8valve auto when it was new...the motor got seized by original owner
when doug(@gpo) was working for the stealership so he called a friend who picked it
up. they replaced the bottom end with an aba 2.0 with a 5 speed all from a mk3. Its
not fast by any means but is super fun to drive with 3 of the 4 windows down lol and
the sunroof cranked open(mk2 FTW) Currently gpo is fixing it as the o2o gave up the
ghost. but its being done the correct way with an ARP bolt kit to replace the rivets
in the differential and also a peloquin 80% kit. I'd like to see this car with a
1.8t in the future but as it sits its still fun as hell to me

How long have you owned your car?
about 7 months

How have you decided to style it?
OEM

What is your favorite part of the car?
The exterior because it has its "character" marks and such but its aged fairly well

Least favorite part?
The interior because it is the worst possible thing vw could have put in a car. lol

What is your most memorable moment with the car?
The day Randall dropped it off at GPO and I realized it was my first purely owned VW.

Any future plans?
I'm looking to do a lot more suspension work to it with a set of coilovers and bildon rear bar. Also down the road; I would like to do a 1.8t swap with a k04 on megasquirt.

Have any tips for everyone?
Make sure you own your car 100% before you start modding things. It makes it easier if you sell it.  lol

Any shoutouts you want to make?
Big thanks to German Performance Options, especially Doug and Joey as they made the decision to take on that mk3 worthwhile.

Mods:

Interior:
Not a thing!

Exterior:
Single Round Conversion

Engine:
2.0 Liter ABA bottom end refreshed with a Techtonics Chip(LOL) and Exhaust. Mk3 020 Transmission(soon to be with ARP bolt kit and Peloquin 80% Kit)

Suspension:
Bilstein Sport Struts with Autotech Springs

and last but not least LOL AT WINNING!
