Congratulations to Dieseldoc for winning November's Ride of the Month!

Name:
Alan "Sal" Robertson, Salipeno, sallie, dieseldork.. wtf ever..

Make:
VW

Model:
Rabbito gti

What is the story behind your car?
My story begins with me being frustrated by the amount of rust in my past rabbits,
so I spent some time and money getting a rabbit out of Socal. It had been there it's
whole life with only 2 owners. The car had been sitting for a while and the
interior was gone and the paint was faded. Most of the cosmetic work was fixed
first, then the 16v NA setup with megasquirt management.  I drove the car with
the NA setup for over 2 years, but I had been wanting a supercharged 16v ever since
I did some reading on BBMs SC'd ABF. I began gathering peoples unfinished projects
and came up with a 3a stroked block and crank, 16v head built by TT, a SR2 lysholm,
and a 020 with a quafie to hold it to the road. The car is still not finished but
whose project is?  I have put almost 5k miles on the car since the motor swap and
over 15K since I have owned it. There is nothing like driving this car, people look
at you like you are licking the window while driving or something and that just puts
a smile on my face, I love surprising people with ability of the car, or the WTF
looks I get when the see what is under the hood.

How long have you owned this car?
5 years

How have you decided to style it?
Modified kraut..

What's your favorite part of the car?
The supercharger

What's your least favorite part of the car?
The engine management

What is your most memorable moment with the car?
There are many of the same moment, but mostly anytime someone says nice rabbit, whats under the hood? Its all I can do to play it down as nothing and then pop the hood and watch the WTF look come over their faces.

Any future plans?
I would like to put different management in the car, mainly for more on board control, and then I would seriously like to put a AWD system in.

Have any tips for everyone?
Don't use one of these as your daily, and stay away from things that are not good..

Any shoutouts you want to make?
Perry, the other half of S&P Originals, my wife for sitting on the side of the road, listing to me bang and beat on the car at all hours, and for pretending to enjoy the spirited drives that ,as by the evidence on the arm rests, she actually did not.

Mod List:
HAHAHA, the stock things on the car are, the windshield wiper motor and the ignition switch.

Interior:
MKII dash with Stewart Warner Gauge Panel
Cheap bucket seats with 4pts
some carpet, no rear seat,
4PT cage
Exterior:
Painted GTI stripes,
hood scoop thing..
badgeless grill
cross hairs
bumper ectomys
Stripe matched rado steelies
Engine:
3A bottom end,
IE Rods,
JE pistons
TT PnP'd head, valves, ect from mr collin
Kent 258 cams
Bosal header
ARP hardware
Suspension:
Weitec Coilovers
Eurosport subframe cross brace/LCA brace
Cage
